2. Booking and Payment
A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the expedition departure date. If full payment is not received within this period, Memory Fabrica reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. All prices are listed in EUR. Applicable taxes are included in the stated price.
Where accommodation is listed as included in an expedition, Memory Fabrica acts as an intermediary, connecting participants with local accommodation providers. Memory Fabrica is not directly responsible for the quality, standards, or conduct of those providers, and any issues relating to accommodation should be raised directly with the provider.
3. Cancellation and Refunds
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to team@memoryfabrica.com. The following policy applies:
- 40 or more days before departure: deposit refunded minus a €30 administration fee.
- 20–39 days before departure: 50% of the total expedition price refunded.
- Fewer than 20 days before departure: no refund.
If Memory Fabrica cancels an expedition due to circumstances within its control (e.g. insufficient participants, logistics failure), participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative date. Memory Fabrica is not liable for any additional costs incurred independently by participants (e.g. flights, accommodation, travel insurance).
4. Participant Requirements
To participate in a Memory Fabrica motorcycle expedition, you must:
- Hold a valid Category A or A2 motorcycle licence (full licence)
- Meet the minimum riding experience required by the specific expedition
- Hold a valid Green Card (international motor insurance certificate) covering all countries on the route
- Have valid travel insurance with medical coverage of at least €30,000 and emergency repatriation cover
- Be in good physical health and capable of riding for extended periods
Additional requirements may apply to specific expeditions and will be stated clearly on the expedition detail page. Memory Fabrica reserves the right to refuse or remove a participant who does not meet stated requirements.
5. Participant Responsibilities
Participants are responsible for:
- Their own motorcycle — roadworthiness, valid registration, and insurance
- Compliance with all traffic laws of countries on the route
- Personal safety equipment: approved helmet, gloves, protective jacket, riding boots, and other protective gear
- Any costs arising from mechanical breakdown, traffic violations, or medical treatment
- Disclosing any medical conditions or physical limitations to Memory Fabrica before the expedition
6. Health and Safety
All routes are risk-assessed and led by experienced guides. Participants must follow guide instructions at all times. Memory Fabrica reserves the right to exclude a participant from an expedition if their conduct, condition, or equipment creates a risk to themselves or the group. No refund will be issued in such cases.
7. Liability and Risk Disclaimer
Motorcycle travel involves inherent risks including, but not limited to, road accidents, injury, or death. By making a booking, participants acknowledge these risks and confirm they are participating voluntarily. Memory Fabrica shall not be liable for personal injury, death, loss, or damage to property unless directly caused by Memory Fabrica's gross negligence.
8. Travel Documents
Participants are solely responsible for ensuring they hold valid passports, visas, and any other travel documents required for the countries on the route. Memory Fabrica provides general route information but cannot be held responsible for complications arising at borders or from insufficient documentation.
9. Photography and Media
Photographs and video footage may be taken during expeditions and used on the Memory Fabrica website and social media channels. If you do not consent to appearing in published media, notify us in writing at team@memoryfabrica.com before the expedition. This does not affect your right to book or participate.
10. Changes to Expeditions
Memory Fabrica reserves the right to alter routes, dates, or itineraries where necessary due to safety concerns, road conditions, weather, or force majeure events. Where significant changes occur, participants will be notified promptly and offered an alternative date or a full refund.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria. Any disputes shall be referred first to mediation, and thereafter to the competent Bulgarian court.
